A new version by Catherine Dyson

Spectacular. Heartfelt. Funny.

Join Wendy on a breathtaking adventure and fly into the fantastical world of Peter Pan this Christmas.

When Wendy meets Peter Pan, she escapes to magical Neverland – a world of fairies, mermaids, and a pirate pursued by a crocodile.

It’s a land where you’re free to play, to have adventures, to fly and sing. But she also discovers a new group of children to look after – a tribe of Lost Boys who are looking for a mother.

Wendy must decide whether to stay in Neverland, or to return home to real life.

Based on J.M. Barrie’s timeless tale, Catherine Dyson’s fun, funny and moving play with songs composed by Gwyneth Herbert, sees the story through Wendy’s eyes. It’s performed by a talented cast of actor-musicians, including faces familiar to Sherman audiences. This fresh new take on a much-loved classic celebrates the power of the imagination to help us navigate life’s adventures. It thinks about what it means to grow up, and how we can all embrace living life in our own way.

Christmas at the Sherman always offers exceptional family entertainment that’s that little bit different. Specially created for ages 7+, and directed by Lee Lyford (The Wind in the Willows, Sherman Theatre; A Christmas Carol, Bristol Old Vic), Peter Pan will be no exception.

This spectacular co-production with Theatr Iolo features thrilling flying sequences designed by NoFit State. There are no limits to where your imagination can take you this Christmas.

More about our new version of Peter Pan
Our production offers children aged 7+ and their families a hugely fun and rich experience. The play, in common with J.M Barrie’s original, carefully and sensitively touches on a range of issues that many children face in their day to day lives. Those themes include divorce, death and loss. If your child has been affected by any of the themes and issues in Peter Pan, here is a list of charities which you can reach out to for further information and support.
