Introduction to Playwriting Workshop

Free Introduction to Playwriting Workshop at Sherman Theatre

This June as part of our Summer of Celebration, Sherman Theatre are thrilled to be able to offer FREE creative writing workshops for young people ages 15 – 18.

These workshops, part of our hugely popular Introduction to Playwriting programme are places where young people can explore and develop their creative writing skills, as well as sharing their voice with others, with the help of professional writers, directors and actors.

On Saturday 18th June we are looking forward to welcoming young people who are from asylum seeking and refugee communities. Facilitated by professionals including those with displaced lived experience this workshop will be a safe and inclusive creative space for all young people.

We hope that young people will find a place where they can belong, where they can be themselves and explore the incredible stories they want to tell.

The session runs from 10am – 4pm at the Sherman Theatre, Senghennydd Road, Cardiff CF24 4YE.

The work created by the young people will be performed by professional actors on Saturday 25th June as part of an evening of other work written by young people and we hope you can join us for both the workshop and the sharing.

Thanks to the on-going generous support of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation we are able to offer these workshops FREE of charge, but spaces are limited.
