Show Information

Known for the famous ‘Flower Duet’; Lakmé contains many other hidden gems including the stratospheric and challenging ‘Bell Song’. Set in India during the 1880’s, this French opera (sung in English)  captures the ambience of the Orient seen through Western eyes, and tells of religious tensions and conflict leading to personal sacrifice, heartbreak and death.

The production is accompanied by a chamber orchestra with a delicious score; unique opportunity to see this rarely performed opera.

‘There were some moments that were truly breathtaking. The full might of 15+ actors on stage singing in unison was stunning’ - Opera Scotland on La Bohème

‘They have a talent for demystifying Opera and presenting it back to all the people regardless of class, age or creed…’ Love Shrewsbury on La Bohème
