Four young women arrive at Girton College, the first in Britain to admit female students. Together they embark on a challenging year of studies at the college. Branded outcasts, unnatural and unmarriageable the girls are determined to gain the right to graduate and the recognition they deserve. Have they made the right decision to choose an education over marriage?
With 2018 marking the centenary of the Women's Suffrage it is especially relevant for our Sherman Players to celebrate this timely piece. Witty and poignant, this play reminds us of the fight women underwent to change the future of education.
