Show Information

To cap off what’s been an incredible year for his critically acclaimed 4th solo album, American Interior, Gruff Rhys will be playing a special double bill at Cardiff's Sherman Theatre on the 18, 19 and 20 December.

His first shows in the city since the album's release, this will be the last chance to see Gruff Rhys' intimate solo performance of the captivating story of John Evans, alongside favourites from his back catalogue.

Gruff Rhys' American Interior album roots lie in his recent discovery that he's a descendent of John Evans. Evans being a Welsh explorer who, in the 1790s, embarked on a solo voyage through America to locate the Mandan, an obscure tribe of Welsh-speaking Indians linked to a 12th-century Welsh prince named Madoc (who, as legend has it, touched down in North America a good 300 years before Columbus).
