The classic Brothers Grimm tale Little Red Riding Hood / Yr Hugan Fach Goch has been given a modern twist by Devisor, Director and Sherman Theatre Associate Artist Gethin Evans. Beautiful storytelling, a clever set and enchanting music makes this new adaptation perfect for children ages 3 – 6 and their families. This production will be performed at separate shows in either Welsh or English.

This charming new version of the classic fairy tale features Welsh actors Llinos Daniel and Leah Gaffey. The story follows Little Red Riding Hood as she embarks on an adventure through the woods to visit her Grandmother. Unaware of danger she weaves her way to Granny’s picking flowers as she goes, but with the Wolf on her way to Granny’s house too, she’d better not take too long.

Devisor and Director Gethin Evans said about the production “Little Red Riding Hood will be an enchanting and playful experience. Filled with music and magic this story of adventure, courage and family will ensure a memorable experience for some of the youngest theatre audiences!

In recent years Sherman Theatre has firmly established its bilingual Christmas production as one of Cardiff’s essential seasonal treats. Thousands of school children and families have been spell-bound with the delightful mix of engaging story-telling, brilliant performances, imaginative sets and costumes (all created at Sherman Theatre by the talented team backstage), and the warm welcome from the staff who are dedicated to making every visit enjoyable.
