SHERMAN THEATRE’S INTRODUCTION TO PLAYWRITING PROGRAMME ROUNDS OFF YEAR WITH END OF TERM SHOWCASE

21 Apr 2021

Sherman Theatre’s Introduction to Playwriting programme offers young people the opportunity to explore and develop their creative writing skills for theatre. Thanks to the continued support of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the young people involved in the scheme this year have written and created a season of short audio plays that have been rehearsed and recorded via Zoom by professional actors and directors. Sherman Theatre is thrilled to be able to share Listen Up! on our social media platforms from 10 – 21 May 2021.

The participants have created brand new plays about real life observations and fantastical adventures. Each of the productions reflect the young people’s lived experiences and the communities they call home.

The thirteen plays featured in the showcase are:

I Miss You by Martha Bright
Throughout the Years by Sophie Budd
On Cloaks and Coke – Adception by Grace Eshel
Pethau Dieithr by Angharad Evans Quek
