SUPPORTING OUR WORK WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS

Are you are a local business interested in helping young people to participate in the arts?

By supporting our Schools Programme you could give young people from across Cardiff and South East Wales a unique opportunity to engage with the arts and gain an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at Sherman Theatre.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Since 2012 Sherman Theatre’s Schools Appeal has supported local schools facing disadvantage to attend a performance of our Christmas production.

Due to the success of the appeal, which has so far enabled 5450 young people to see a performance at the Sherman, we want to extend the opportunity for schools to visit us at any time during the year and to enjoy a broader range of artistic provision. This provision can include taking part in bespoke creative workshops, designed to both develop young people’s skills across the curriculum and to act as a useful tool kit of ideas for teachers when working on curricular and extra-curricular activities, backstage tours (lasting 90 minutes) and Q&A sessions with members of the Sherman team.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

By supporting schools that would otherwise be unable to afford a trip to the theatre, you can help us to widen access for young people who have fewer opportunities for creative engagement.

Your support really will make a difference in enabling us to deliver activities that are tailored to meet the needs of a diverse range of school groups, across both primary and secondary age groups.

HOW WE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT

Once you donate to the programme, we will pair you with a school/schools from our waiting list and will write to tell you how your donation will be spent. We will also acknowledge your support on our website and via our social media sites.

GET IN TOUCH

If you would like to make a donation, or require more information about the appeal, please contact Emma Tropman at emma.tropman@shermantheatre.co.uk or on 029 2064 6976
