JMK Trust and Sherman Theatre's Directors Group
The aim of the directors group is to facilitate an ongoing network that develops young and emerging directors and theatre makers. This will be done through numerous free skills workshops, networking events and access to mentoring and support throughout the year. There will be opportunities to work in both Welsh and English.
Members of this group will be eligible to apply for assistant director positions on future Sherman Theatre productions. This will be supported by The Carne Trust.
The group is open to new and emerging directors from across Wales. To become a member of the Directors Group please send 100 words expressing your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The JMK Trust was founded in the memory of James Menzies-Kitchin, a brilliant young director, to give opportunities to theatre directors of similar ability and vision. Each year it gives one prestigious award to enable one outstanding applicant to create their own production of their choice of classic text, currently at the Young Vic in London. For many, winning the JMK Award is the breakthrough moment in their directing career. The annual JMK Award is for directors under the age of 30, but the regional programme and the bursary is for directors of any age.
